Why Show Battery Pricing?

This feature was developed to meet growing regulatory requirements (such as those in California) that mandate battery pricing be itemized for the customer. It also addresses strong user demand for greater pricing transparency.

Previously, the only workaround was to use "adders," which did not support the automated tiered pricing many users rely on for batteries. This new feature allows you to display the battery price as a line item while still using your complex, automated pricing schemes.

How to Enable Battery Price Visibility

You can enable this feature directly within your component pricing settings.

1. Navigate to Control > Pricing & Payments.
2. Select the Batteries price adjustment section.
3. Choose the battery component you wish to configure or add a new price adjustment for it.
4. Within the price adjustment configuration for that battery, you will see a new toggle: "Show pricing to customer".
5. Enable this toggle.

6. Save your changes.
    

   

How It Appears on the Proposal

The behavior of the proposal's quotation table will change based on this toggle:

• When Enabled: The price for the battery will appear as a distinct, separate line item in the quotation table on the online proposal.
   

  

• When Disabled (Default): The battery's price will be bundled into the total system price and will not be itemized as a separate line item.

Important Considerations

• Works with Tiered Pricing: This feature is fully compatible with automated tiered pricing. The price displayed to the customer as a line item will be the final calculated price, correctly factoring in any tiers you have set up.
• Batteries Only (For Now): As of this release, this feature is only available for battery components. While the feature was built to be extensible in the future, the "Show pricing to customer" toggle is currently only implemented for batteries.
