Verifying Your Business on OpenSolar

To protect your brand and ensure a trusted network of professionals, OpenSolar now requests all organisations to verify their business identity.

This helps keep the platform secure and professional, and ensures that you’re in control of your company’s presence on OpenSolar.

What is Business Verification?

Verification is a quick check to confirm that you're a legitimate solar business. It involves confirming either:

• Your business phone number via SMS, or

• Your business email address

Who Needs to Verify?

All organisations — both new and existing — are now required to verify their account.

You may notice a warning icon (⚠️) in:

Control > Company > Authentication

This means your business hasn’t been verified yet. Verifying only takes a minute and gives you immediate access to a better, more trusted experience.

How to Verify

There are two ways you might complete verification:

1. During Registration

New users signing up to OpenSolar will be prompted to verify their business as part of the registration flow. If skipped, you can still verify anytime from within your account.

2. From Within the Platform

If you're an existing user or skipped verification, just head to:

Control > Company > Authentication > Verify

You’ll be able to verify using either your business phone number (via SMS) or your business email.

Once your org has been verified, you can easily update the verification details whenever you like from the same part of the app. 

Where is SMS Verification Available?

SMS verification is supported in the following countries:

Australia, New Zealand, UK, US, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Italy, Poland, France, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, Norway, Ireland

If your country isn’t on this list, you can still verify your business by email.

What If I Don’t Receive the Code?

If you're having trouble receiving your OTP via SMS or email:

• Double-check that your details are correct.

• Try the alternate method (email/SMS).

• Still no luck? Reach out to our Support team, and we can manually verify your account if needed.
