OpenSolar 3.0 will see the introduction of Ada, our powerful suite of AI-powered tools to empower, support and accelerate anyone looking to accelerate our global electrification and renewables transition. This includes our Ada Auto Design tool, which you can learn more about here, and Ada Chat & Voice.
Ada Chat & Voice is your AI assistant inside OpenSolar. Ask questions in plain language or speak with Ada to get help with design decisions, proposal content, pricing explanations, and customer‑facing communications. Use it in or out of a project for fast, contextual answers.
What it's great for:
Ada Voice & Chat is designed to help you unlock the full power of OpenSolar. This can help with things like:
- Learning more about OpenSolar and what OpenSolar can do for you, e.g. "What is a Battery Control Scheme"
- Navigating the app, e.g. "take me to the projects page"
- Creating projects, e.g. "Create a project at 230 Valparaiso Avenue, Atherton California, with a customer name as John Smith. Their house has 2 storeys and a tile clay roof".
- Learning more about the industry, technical concerns or general solar help
Top tip: Ada gets better all the time. Don't be afraid to experiment with new ways Ada can help you!
Top tip: the more specific your prompt is, the better it will be.
How to use:
Simply open Ada by clicking on the Ada wheel (bottom right) or Ada button (top left).
Using Ada Chat
Once open, type any questions you have into the Ada chat window, and you'll see Ada start replying to you.
Using Ada Voice
To chat with Ada in natural language, simply click the microphone, and start chatting! Ada will be able to handle lots of questions about OpenSolar, as well as helping you navigate the app.
To get started, you may need to allow access to the microphone. Follow the prompts in your browser to allow this.
To finish a chat, simply press the microphone or close the window. You will have a transcript of your conversation in the chat window for your review.
