The Checkout Experience section in OpenSolar’s Control zone enables you to tailor the customer journey—from accepting proposals to making payments. You can manage checkout visibility, rename key sections, control PDF output options, and integrate both online and offline payment methods. This guide will walk you through all available options.

Accessing Checkout Experience Settings:
To access the checkout experience navigate to:
Control > Purchase Experience > Checkout Experience
Customizing Section Names and Content:
Quote Acceptance Title - Customize the title that appears in the signature section of the proposal PDF.
Review Proposal Buttons - Modify the label for buttons shown on the proposal review and deposit table.
Accept Proposal Buttons - Adjust the wording for the accept proposal button in the customer interface.
Quote Acceptance Content - Add custom checkboxes that the customer must acknowledge before signing.
To do this:
Click the “+” icon.
Add the required text for each item.
These will appear in the proposal acceptance screen and must be checked before submission.
Managing Files and Proposal Acceptance:
You can control how the proposal and contract are generated and shared.
PDF Output Options
Choose how the PDF is composed when generated:
Combined Proposal and Contract PDF
Proposal PDF Only
Contract PDF Only
Email Settings on Acceptance:
Enable the toggle to automatically email the proposal/contract upon acceptance.
Customize the email subject and message body using the fields below the toggle.
Customer Payment Transactions:
If your customer will be paying in cash or an offline method, the Accept Offline must be toggled on for the system to allow the customer to accept the proposal.
The following fields can also be configured:
Accept Offline – Toggle ON to activate offline payment.
Offline Surcharge (%) – Add a percentage fee for offline payments.
Offline Surcharge (Fixed) – Set a fixed fee instead.
Offline Title – Name of the offline payment method (e.g., "Direct Deposit").
Offline Payment Details – Provide instructions such as BSB, account number, or payment notes.
Saving Your Changes:
After customizing your settings, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save button to apply updates.
Enabling or Disabling Self-Checkout:
You can allow or restrict customers from checking out directly through the proposal. You can also have or remove the signature space in the PDF proposal.
This is all controlled from control> Purchase Experience > Proposal template
From there, edit your template
Expand the advanced settings section
Set the checkout button to
Disabled: if you do not want the accept proposal button in the online proposal or the signature space in the PDF proposal
Enabled: If you always want to have the accept proposal and signature space regardless of the proposal's validity
Disable after proposal validity gas expired: Select this option if you want the accepted proposal and signature space to disappear after the proposal's validity is reached.
