Summary
You can export project information from the Projects page to a CSV file. Exports are prepared in the background, saved to your organisation’s Private Files, and you’ll receive an email when the file is ready.
Important: Each export can include a maximum of 2,000 projects. If you need more than 2,000 projects, use filters (for example by stage, date, or sold status) and run multiple exports.

How to export project information
- Go to the Projects page.
- Switch to List View if you are currently in Kanban View. The export option is available in List View.
- (Optional) Use Sort & Filter to narrow the projects you want to include.
- In the top-right area of the page, click Export Report.
- In the dialog, choose which projects and which data columns to include (see below).
- Click Export.
You’ll see a confirmation that your export has been queued. Depending on how much data is included, this can take a little time.
Choosing what to export
Select projects
- Current view — Exports projects that match your current filters and view.
- All projects — Exports all projects in your organisation (still subject to the 2,000-project maximum).
Select data
- Current view — Exports the columns enabled in your current Projects list view.
- All projects data — Exports the full set of available project fields. This option is available to Admin users only.
Export limit
Each export is limited to a maximum of 2,000 projects.
If your organisation has more than 2,000 projects (or your current filters return more than 2,000):
- Apply filters to break the export into smaller batches (for example by stage, created date, sold status, or assignee).
- Run a separate export for each batch.
Exports larger than this limit will only include up to the first 2,000 matching projects.
Where to find your exported file
When the export is complete:
- The CSV file is saved to your organisation’s Private Files. To access the private files, please go to Control > Customer > Files.
- You’ll receive an email titled something like OpenSolar Projects Data Export, with a link to open the file.
You can also open Private Files in OpenSolar and download the file from there.
Permissions
Your role needs permission to export projects. If you don’t see Export Report, ask an Admin to check your role permissions for Projects export.
Only Admins can choose All projects data when selecting which columns to export.
