Summary
The page provides guidance on how to configure your Stripe settings, manage your available customer payment methods, and monitor your live card processing balances directly within OpenSolar CashFlow.
Note: This partner is only available in the United States (US), United Kingdom (GB), and Australia (AU).
Configuring Your Stripe Settings
Step 1: Navigate to the Stripe Payment Settings Interface
Once your merchant onboarding application has been successfully completed and submitted to the Stripe network, you can access your comprehensive financial and configuration controls directly inside OpenSolar:
Open your CashFlow Hub and locate the gear icon in the top right corner of the page.
Click the gear icon to open your navigation settings menu.
Select Stripe Payment Settings from the menu items to open your live dashboard panel.
Step 2: Clear Outstanding Compliance and Action Items
If your newly linked Stripe merchant profile contains outstanding verification requirements necessary to approve live payment processing or bank payouts, an alert will render across the dashboard.
Review the live compliance banner displayed at the absolute top of the Stripe Payment Settings page.
Locate the Update button on the far right side of the banner.
Click Update to open an embedded secure pop-up window directly inside OpenSolar. This window guides you through the exact identification paperwork or business documentation required.
Important Note: Please handle outstanding verification uploads immediately. Delays in providing requested materials can lead to automatic network restrictions or structural interruptions in your live payment processing or bank payout distributions. Once submitted and approved, the banner clears automatically.
Step 3: Configuring Manual Card Surcharging Rules
Surcharging with Stripe runs on a manual-entry framework inside OpenSolar. To pass credit card network processing fees on to your end customer, you must declare your values:
Locate the Surcharge panel inside your Stripe Payment Settings page.
Define your billing parameters by entering a custom percentage rate value (e.g., 1.5%) and/or a flat, fixed transaction fee amount (e.g., $0.30) into the input fields, then click Save.
These custom values apply automatically at checkout to all Card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay transactions where transaction fees occur.
Important Compliance Guardrails: OpenSolar automatically enforces strict percentage caps behind the scenes in specific geographies to protect your structural compliance. However, the legal responsibility remains on your organization to ensure that surcharging is permitted within your local territories and that your chosen surcharge inputs match local legal limits.
Step 4: Defining Global Account Payment Methods
The Stripe framework gives you central control over which digital checkout paths are recognized by your system:
Scroll to the Payment Method Settings section.
Toggle individual transaction rows On or Off to declare globally which methods are available on your account profile (e.g., Link, digital wallets, or localized real-time bank options).
Strategic Workflow Note: Toggling a method here establishes its overall availability for your OpenSolar organization, but it does not dictate a milestone-by-milestone preference. Once your account availability is set, navigate to your central Milestone Settings to choose which specific payment paths apply to upfront deposits versus final post-sale progress payments.
Step 5: Monitoring Live Financial Ledgers and Balances
OpenSolar embeds live Stripe UI modules directly into your dashboard workspace, allowing you to audit financial operations without logging into external bank networks:
Stripe Processed Payments Table: Displays your complete transaction history, gross receipts, network fees, and processing status tags.
Payouts Dashboard: Logs your comprehensive historical distribution logs alongside real-time lookaheads for upcoming weekly or bi-weekly bank deposits.
Balances Tab: Displays your currently cleared funds, total currency volumes actively accruing in your pipeline, and forecasted distribution amounts. This lookahead tool is highly useful for teams tracking predictable weekly or bi-weekly cash flow targets.
Step 6: Executing Advanced Merchant Account Management
The Account Management section allows authorized profiles to securely update or modify the core administrative settings submitted during your onboarding application:
Business Details: Review your corporate legal structure and instantly edit your public-facing statement descriptors or customer support contact lines.
Managers and Owners: Review your designated account representatives. If your business undergoes an ownership change or needs to appoint a new compliance officer, you can request changes to your executive representative matrix directly via this panel.
Bank Accounts: View your designated funding accounts. This panel allows you to seamlessly register additional bank accounts, modify routing configurations, and update which linked account acts as your primary default destination for automated payouts.
