This article explains how to:
- Set up your OpenSolar Wallet
- Enable the API Access
Your Wallet must be set up to ensure uninterrupted access to paid products, including API services, after any applicable trial period ends.
What Is the OpenSolar Wallet?
Your OpenSolar Wallet is used to pay for third-party premium services within OpenSolar, including:
- High-resolution imagery (e.g., Nearmap)
- API Access products
- Other premium integrations and services
We strongly recommend setting up your Wallet before enabling API products to avoid service interruptions once a trial period expires.
Step 1: Setup your OpenSolar Wallet
Before enabling API Access, you must activate your Wallet.
How to Activate Your Wallet
- Go to Control
- Navigate to Integrations
- Select Your Wallet
- Click Set up your Wallet
- Read and agree to the Terms & Conditions
Manually add funds to your account:
- From the Wallet window, select the Add Funds Manually
- Add the funds amount and card information
- Select Save
Use the auto top-up functionality:
- Select the enable auto top-up checkbox
- Enter the amount you want to add to your account each time
- Select the minimum balance you want your account to have before the auto top up happens
- Add your card information
- Save window
Once activated, your Wallet will be ready to cover any paid product usage.
Step 2: Enable API Access or Raw Data API Access
After your Wallet is set up, you can enable API products.
It is recommended that your Wallet is active before enabling API Access to ensure uninterrupted service once any trial period ends.
How to Enable API Access
Depending on your UI version:
- Go to Control
- Select Integrations
- Select Integrations & Services
Then:
- Locate API Access or Raw Data API Access under the other section.
- Click the “View” button.
- Click on "Enable Integration"
Your API product will now be activated.
What’s the Difference Between API Access and Raw Data API Access?
- API Access – Enables access to OpenSolar’s standard API endpoints.
- Raw Data API Access – Provides expanded access to raw project and system data for advanced integrations.
