API Access & Raw Data API Access Wallet Product
From 17th March onwards, OpenSolar organisations must enable the API Access or Raw Data API Access wallet product (available under Control > Integrations > Integrations & Services) in order to use the OpenSolar API and Webhooks for building external integrations with third-party platforms.
30-Day Free Trial
Organisations will receive a 30-day free trial when enabling the API Access (or Raw Data API Access) wallet product.
During the free trial period:
Organisations can make unlimited* API calls.
Organisations can receive webhooks from OpenSolar.
For every new project created, a $0 wallet invoice will be generated and can be viewed under Control > Wallet.
While it is not mandatory to set up an organisation wallet during the free trial, we strongly recommend doing so when enabling the trial. This helps ensure there are no disruptions once the free trial period ends.
After the Free Trial Period
At the end of the 30-day trial, the organisation will automatically transition to the paid version of the API Access (or Raw Data API Access) product.
Once the trial ends:
An API Access fee (or Raw Data API Access fee) will be deducted from the organisation’s wallet for each new project created.
If there are insufficient funds in the wallet, project creation will be blocked.
To continue creating projects and accessing the OpenSolar API, organisations must add funds to their wallet.
Alternatively, organisations may disable the API Access wallet product. However, disabling the product will result in loss of access to the OpenSolar API and Webhooks.
API Throttle Limits
*Although API calls are unlimited during the free trial, OpenSolar maintains throttle limits to ensure organisations are not calling OpenSolar endpoints in an unoptimised manner.
Important Dates
From 24th February, organisations can opt in to the free trial of the API Access wallet products.
From 17th March, organisations will automatically be placed into the free trial.
This automatic transition ensures that organisations already using API integrations will not lose access when the API Access wallet products are officially launched on 17th March.
