Click Learn More and then Connect Propensio
-
Fill out all the required information on the form to request access to Propensio. The Propensio team will review your request, and approvals are typically sent via email & in-app notification within 2 business days.
Note: Ensure your organisation is MCS accredited, as this is a requirement for Propensio products.
Once activated, Propensio will appear as an option in the Finance Marketplace dialogue on your proposals.
The Credit Application
Unlike some lenders that redirect customers to a third-party site, the secure Propensio credit application is hosted directly within the OpenSolar proposal. This keeps the customer engaged in your sales flow.
After clicking "Apply Now" in the marketplace, the customer will complete the following steps:
Personal Details: Name, date of birth, email, and mobile number (must start with '07').
Address History: Customers must provide 3 years of address history.
Installation Address: If the installation site is different from their home address, they can specify a separate site address here.
Financial Info: Bank sort code, account number, and employment/income details.
Terms & Conditions: Customers must review and accept the disclosures before submitting.
Note that the assigned sales rep will be notified if a customer views a credit application but does not complete it, so that you're able to stay in the loop on where they are in the process.
Quotes shown at the initial stage are based on the information provided at that time. If further details are later provided or verified during underwriting, the final offer and repayments may change.
Viewing the Credit Decision
Once the application is submitted, the decision is displayed instantly within the Finance Marketplace window: Approved, Declined, or Pending. This provides immediate feedback to both you and your customer without needing to leave the OpenSolar app.
From the proposal, click back into the finance marketplace:
What you will see:
Status Indicator: A clear status badge (e.g., Approved) accompanied by a visual icon indicates the result of the credit check.
Confirmed Loan Terms: The screen displays a summary of the approved financing details, including the Loan Amount, APR, Monthly Payment, Total Repayable, and Loan Term.
Next Steps: The bottom of the screen provides clear instructions to the customer on how to proceed. An email will be sent to the customer as well with their credit agreement and instructions for the next steps where applicable.
Note: You and your customer can return to this view at any time to check for updates on the application status.
The assigned sales rep will receive an email notification when a decision is reached. That email will be saved on the project Activity Feed on the Project>Manage page as well.
If the customer is approved, they will receive an email from Propensio guiding them through next steps.
Triggering Payouts (Post-Install)
Once a project using Propensio financing has an Approved application and the physical installation is complete, you must trigger the final payout from OpenSolar.
This step replaces the need for separate email chains or paperwork.
Navigate to the Project > Manage tab in OpenSolar.
Locate the Propensio Integration section (this will appear for projects with Propensio applications).
Click the "Confirm Installation Complete" button.
Enter MCS Number: A dialog will appear requiring you to enter the job-specific MCS Certificate Number.
Submit: Clicking submit will automatically generate a "Satisfaction Note" PDF containing all required project details (including the MCS number) and send it directly to Propensio's API to initiate your payout.
Payment confirmations sent before 3pm Mon-Fri will be paid the next working day.
Important Notes:
You can only confirm installation after the customer's credit application has been fully approved.
If you make a mistake on the MCS number, you can re-open the dialog and re-submit the confirmation to update the record with Propensio.
