Presenting in your proposals
Once you have imported the products via Payment Options, you are ready to add them to your proposals.Â
Â
Open a project and navigate to the ‘Payments’ tab. Once in ‘Payments’, click ‘+ Add Payment Options’.
Â
Â
Identify which payment option(s) you want to add, check the corresponding checkbox and click ‘Save’.Â
Â
Â
Â
These will now be present in your Proposal as payment options. Click on the ‘Online Proposal’ tab, open the payment options drop down on the right hand side and see the Selina products presented there.
Â
Â
Â
What does the customer journey look like?
Once your customers have opened the link you have sent them, they can interact with the proposal and review the various payment options you have added.Â
Â
They will open the proposal and be able to select a payment option from the drop-down menu.
Â
Selecting the various payment options will influence the quotation table and other dynamic aspects of the proposal.Â
Â
If they decide to proceed with a Selina Finance loan option, they will click ‘Apply Now’.
Â
Â
This will present a dialogue informing them that they are about to be redirected to the Selina quick quote page. They will not be able to proceed without checking the checkbox to confirm they agree to the terms and conditions as well as the privacy policy.
Â
Â
Once they have been redirected to the Selina quick quote page, they will proceed to complete the application independently from OpenSolar. They should return to the online proposal to review and accept.Â
Â
All finance application related correspondence will take place directly between the customer and Selina Finance. If they are approved, they will be paid the funds directly and you should arrange payment with your customer accordingly.Â
Â
Â
Â
You (the installer) do not need to apply through Selina to activate this product
This integration is a one click activation. You do not need to apply to Selina Finance to offer this product, simply activate via payment options and add to your proposals. The customer will interact directly with Selina if they choose to use finance to pay for their system.
Â
MCS accredited installers only
In order to utilise this loan option in your proposals, you must be an active MCS accredited installer.
Â
Loan size
With regards to project design and customer purchase price, the minimum Selina loan value is £10,000, the maximum is £500,000.
Â
You cannot ‘introduce’ Selina Finance to your customers
There are robust rules, set by the FCA, in the UK that protect customers from mis-selling of credit products. As a result, typically organisations introducing customers to financial products must be an accredited introducer (IAR) for the lender.Â
Â
In this integration, instead of you being the appointed introducer representative, OpenSolar have been appointed by Selina as the introducing representative. Therefore you cannot introduce the customer to these products. In practice, we encourage you to inform the customer that finance options are available via your proposal but that you are unable to discuss them and you should advise your customers to direct any queries to the lender.
