To create a more professional and transparent payment experience for your customers, we have launched the new Customer Payment Portal. This centralized hub gives your customers a clear, detailed summary of their entire payment schedule, including milestone breakdowns, payment history, statuses, and transaction details.
By proactively answering their questions about what's been paid and what's due next, this tool helps build trust and reduces back-and-forth communication, allowing you to get paid faster.
What Your Customer Sees
When your customer clicks the "Pay Now" button in any payment request email, they will be taken to this new, enhanced payment portal. It provides them with everything they need to understand their financial commitment and history with your company.
The portal is organized into two simple tabs: Make Payment and Payment Overview.
Key Features and Benefits for Your Business
A Focused "Make Payment" Tab
When a payment is due, the portal opens directly to the Make Payment tab. This view is focused on the immediate task, showing the details of the current payment request and prompting the customer to enter their payment information. This keeps the process simple and action-oriented.
A Transparent "Payment Overview" Tab
This is the new, powerful addition to the portal that provides a complete financial summary for your customer. It is organized into two distinct tables:
- Payment Milestones: This table shows the main payment schedule for the solar project as you've defined it (e.g., Deposit, Installation).
- Other Payments: This table will show any additional payments or custom invoices that are not part of the primary project milestones (e.g., a change order or service fee).
Each line item in these tables provides comprehensive details, giving your customer full visibility and reducing the need for them to contact you for information.
The columns include:
- Amount: The specific amount for that payment request.
- Status: A clear, color-coded status chip to instantly convey the state of the payment. Statuses include:
Paid: The payment has been successfully completed.Ready for Payment: A payment has been requested and is ready to be paid. A Pay Now button will also appear.Overdue: A requested payment is past its due date.Cancelled: The payment request was cancelled by you.Refunded: The payment was successfully made but has since been refunded.Not Requested: A future milestone that has not yet been requested for payment.
- Paid Date: For completed payments, this shows the exact date the transaction was processed.
- Payment Method & Transaction ID: Your customer can see how they paid (e.g., Credit Card, Bank Transfer) and the associated transaction ID for their records.
- Surcharge Value: When smart surcharging is turned on, and a customer uses a payment method that includes a surcharge, the surcharge value is clearly displayed for their records.
- Invoice: A direct link to download the relevant invoice PDF for their records.
This level of detail builds trust, demonstrates professionalism, and empowers your customers by giving them easy access to all their financial information in one place.
