Creating a new Nearmap on OpenSolar account:
For users with Nearmap on OpenSolar subscription and without an existing OpenSolar Account.
Note: If neither your business nor your email credentials exist in OpenSolar, and you have Nearmap Admin credentials, follow these instructions:
- Go to opensolar.com/#/login
- Click "Login with Nearmap" and you will be redirected to Nearmap’s Login page.
- Use your Nearmap Admin email credentials to log in.
- A Nearmap on OpenSolar Account will automatically be created using your Nearmap Subscription name as your Business Name which can be found and changed under Control > Company > Business Info if needed. All the team members in your Nearmap account will also be added to your Nearmap on OpenSolar account.
- Nearmap users on your Account can follow the same process above to login to their Nearmap on OpenSolar Account.
OR
- Go to https://admin.nearmap.com/welcome/ and use your Nearmap Admin email credentials to log in.
- Click on the “Go to OpenSolar” orange button in the self-service portal.
- A Nearmap on OpenSolar Account will automatically be created using your Nearmap Subscription name as your Business Name which can be found and changed under Control > Business Info if needed. All the team members in your Nearmap account will also be added to your Nearmap on OpenSolar account.
- Nearmap users on your Account can follow the same process above to login to their Nearmap on OpenSolar Account.

Basic Design:
Nearmap on OpenSolar users will have default access to a basic design application in Studio, which includes functionality similar to the MapBrowser Solar Tool.
Imagery:
Nearmap oblique imagery is only available in Australia and New Zealand.
Nearmap on OpenSolar uses high-resolution, regularly updated Nearmap oblique imagery that enables extremely accurate solar designs and energy output calculations.

In Nearmap on OpenSolar, you can see the date of capture and the time of day that the vertical image was captured in the design zone.
To see this information, open a project and navigate to the design zone, then select Nearmap imagery.
At the bottom center of the screen, you will see this Nearmap icon:
Click this icon, and then select the drop-down available for Nearmap vertical images.
You will then see all of the available capture dates pop up. To see the time of day that the image was captured, hover over a specific capture date and it will show in a small frame to the right:
