Mounting Systems GmbH is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of substructure constructions for photovoltaic systems. For over 30 years, we have stood for quality products “Made in Germany”.
Our products are designed in-house with the highest standards of customer satisfaction, quality and service, and are manufactured with continuous further development in our factory in Rangsdorf. Because quality also means being on site during development and production to accompany the processes step by step.
Our PV mounting systems, produced according to German standards, enjoy a unique and excellent image, both in Germany and with our international customers and trading partners.
OpenSolar has a native integration with MS. This native racking solution is built to follow the manufacturer guidelines, enforcing compatibility checks such as roof slope, roof type and module thickness, and generating an appropriate bill of materials (BOM). The BOM generation process includes the following;
- Basic module spacing
- Rail splicing
- Specifying clamps, hooks and any other required components
Placing Roof Hooks
Our design tool will place roof hooks along the rails at a spacing defined by the input "Mounting Spacing". This can be modified as necessary to reflect the dimensions of the roof substructure and the structural assessment results.
How to use the native MS integration in OpenSolar
- Navigate to the design page
- Click on the "mounting" tab on the left toolbar
- You will see two options available from MS:
- Pitched Pro Line
- Trapeze Pro line (available in the UK Only)
Both of these options have the "auto-racking" feature built-in, meaning that OpenSolar will automatically process the module design data to produce a full list of mounting components required.
Pitched Pro Line 🇬🇧🇪🇸🇩🇪🇳🇱🇵🇱
The Pitched Pro Line system is designed for pitched roof applications and offers flexibility for both framed and frameless solar panels in portrait or landscape orientations. This system is made from aluminum with stainless steel components, ensuring durability. It can accommodate a roof pitch between 0 to 60 degrees and is engineered to withstand wind loads up to 216 km/h and snow loads of 1.4 kg/m².
For this mounting option, you can modify the clamp colour, end cap colour, profile, panel thickness range, rail and roof hook type. Using the "auto-racking" toggle will set these for you automatically.
Trapeze Pro Line (UK-only) 🇬🇧
The Trapeze Pro Line is designed primarily for pitched roofs, particularly suitable for seam metal, steel, and aluminum roof types. This system can be arranged in rows and supports both framed and unframed solar panels, which can be installed in either portrait or landscape orientation. It's built to handle roof pitches from 5 to 45 degrees.
The structure of the Trapeze Pro Line includes aluminium supporting materials and stainless steel for smaller parts, ensuring durability and resistance to harsh conditions. It can endure wind loads up to 216 km/h and snow loads of 1.4 kg/m².
- Note: this mounting system is only compatible with the following roof types (please ensure you have set the roof type accordingly in project > info > site details first):
- Kliplock, Metal Standing Seam and Metal Tin.
There are two rail type options to select from when using the Trapeze Pro Line:
- Mini
- This type of rail system is designed for installations where shorter rail sections are sufficient to securely mount the solar panels.
- Continuous
- Continuous rails run the entire length of the installation area, providing a consistent base for solar panels. This type of rail is used in situations where maximum support and stability are required, particularly in environments with high wind loads or other demanding physical conditions.
When using either the Pitched Pro Line or Trapeze Pro Line, the relevant mounting components will populate for you automatically within the "others" tab in the design page. This will assist you in getting an accurate bill of materials (BOM) for your system.
