About Solvera
The Solvera Sunshine Guarantee is a UK-exclusive offering that helps forward-thinking installers make the buying decision a completely worry-free investment for your customers by providing protection against lower-than-expected sunshine. Once your organisation is approved and connected, OpenSolar will automatically apply the appropriate Solvera policy to eligible solar designs, enabling you to offer a worry-free investment for your customers.
Before you can use the Solvera Sunshine Guarantee, your organisation must:
- Be based in the United Kingdom.
- Submit an application to Solvera through OpenSolar.
- Receive approval from the Solvera team.
- Have the integration enabled by the OpenSolar team.
How to apply for the Solvera integration
You can access the Solvera application from either of the following locations:
- The Solvera promotional banner within OpenSolar.
- Project > Manage > Integrations, then select Apply Now.
Complete the application form and submit your details for review.
During the application, you'll be asked to confirm your organisation and contact information.
What happens after you submit your application?
Submitting an application does not automatically enable the Solvera integration.
Once submitted:
- OpenSolar securely shares your application with the Solvera team.
- Solvera reviews your organisation and contacts you if additional information is required.
- Solvera determines whether your organisation is eligible for the Sunshine Guarantee.
If your application is approved, Solvera will notify OpenSolar with your:
- Eligible project type(s)
- Residential
- Commercial
- Residential & Commercial
- Solvera policy number
The OpenSolar team will then enable the integration for your organisation.
What happens after approval?
Once your organisation has been approved:
- The Solvera integration will be enabled for your organisation.
- The relevant Solvera policy components will automatically become available within Control > Design & Hardware > Others.
- These components will be managed automatically by OpenSolar based on your organisation's approved eligibility.
No manual setup is required after the integration has been enabled.
How are Solvera policy components applied?
After the integration has been enabled, OpenSolar automatically evaluates every design system created within a project.
For each design system, OpenSolar will:
- Check your organisation's approved project type.
- Assess the system against Solvera's eligibility criteria (such as system size).
- Automatically add the appropriate Solvera policy component when the design is eligible.
- Automatically replace or remove the policy component if the design is modified and no longer meets the eligibility requirements.
This process runs automatically whenever a design system is created or updated.
Can I remove the Solvera policy component?
No. The Solvera policy component is required for eligible projects and cannot be manually removed from the design. If you attempt to remove it, OpenSolar will prevent the action and display an explanation when you hover over the component, explaining why it must remain in the project.
Will the Solvera policy appear in my proposal?
Yes. When a Solvera policy component has been successfully applied to an eligible design, it will appear in your proposal together with the associated Solvera showcase content.
