We’ve recently removed the Self-Consumption Override Percentage functionality from the Advanced Settings of the Summary tab.
This field was previously most useful for battery designs and retrofit scenarios, but with our latest updates, it is no longer needed.
Why We Removed It
As part of our new battery retrofit functionality, we have significantly enhanced our calculations for battery performance, load distribution, and system optimization. The original Self-Consumption Override field was intended to adjust and customize load profiles, particularly for battery self-consumption modeling.
With our improved calculation engine, we now handle generation to load, battery or grid, and battery charge/ discharge behaviour more accurately and automatically. This means that manual overrides are no longer necessary- and could even lead to less accurate results if used.
The Better Way to Model Consumption, Self-Consumption and Battery Behaviour Now
To ensure your battery is charging and discharging as expected, use our Battery Control Scheme functionality. This is the most accurate way to manage battery behavior within your designs.
To make sure your load profiles reflect the reality of your customer's usage, update your Consumption Profiles in the Energy tab. You can input accurate consumption data based on bills, total yearly, quarterly or monthly consumption, or interval data if available. You can then set specific Usage Profiles.
