Introduction

If your organisation has a distributor connection and you want to restrict team members from viewing stock, price, and the distributor sources, you can manage this via roles and permissions.

Below is the default visibility for preset, non-custom roles:

Where to find the roles & permissions template?

Navigate to Control > Company > Custom Roles > Click on “+ Create Permission Set”.

Details of Each Setting

1. Hardware Components Pricing

• Focus checkboxes: View and Edit
• When both are enabled:
  • Users can see and edit all hardware pricing information throughout the platform.
• When disabled:
  • Pricing visibility is completely hidden.

2. Shop Hardware Access

• Focus checkboxes: View and Edit
• When both are enabled:
  • Users can access the Shop, Global Cart, and the project’s Hardware page.
  • Users can place orders.
• When only View is enabled (Edit disabled):
  • Users have view-only access; fields are visible but not clickable or editable.
• When both are disabled:
  • Users cannot access these areas at all.

3. Hardware Source Selection

• Focus checkboxes: View and Edit
• When both are enabled:
  • Users can see all available sources in the Component Selector.
  • They can click, select, and apply sources to designs.
  • Applies to:
    • RHS BOM in the Design Page
    • Customise Hardware Modal in the Pricing tab
    • BOM table in the Hardware Page
• When only View is enabled (Edit disabled):
  • Sources are visible, but users cannot select or apply them to designs.

4. Hardware Stock Information

• Focus checkbox: View
• When enabled:
  • Stock levels are visible in:
    • The Component Selector
    • The RHS BOM in the Design Page
      The BOM table in the Hardware Page
• When disabled:
  • Stock information is hidden everywhere.

5. Hardware Manage Order

• Focus checkboxes: View and Edit
• When both are enabled:
  • Users can fully manage the Hardware Page after an order is placed.
  • They can update and edit fields as needed.
• When only View is enabled (Edit disabled):
  • Users can view post-order details but cannot edit fields.
