Auto-Applying Pricing Schemes:
Accessing the Pricing Scheme Settings:
Go to Control > Pricing & Payments > Pricing Scheme
Only admin team members have access to this section.
All pricing setup and edits must be completed here before being applied to projects in Design.
How to Add a New Pricing Scheme:
Click the “+ Add Pricing Scheme” button in the top-right corner of the Pricing Scheme page.
Enter a Title for your new scheme.
Select a pricing formula from the dropdown:
Price per Watt
Markup Percentage
Price per Watt by Size
Fixed Price
Choose whether to Auto-Apply the scheme (optional).
Fill in the required fields depending on the selected formula.
Click Save to apply your pricing scheme.
To update an existing scheme, click the edit icon next to the relevant pricing scheme.
Pricing Scheme Types & Definitions:
Price per Watt
Calculates pricing based on the total watts of solar and kilowatt-hours of battery installed.
Input pricing should be inclusive of tax.
Enter the tax percentage included in the price.
Final pricing is calculated in the Design area based on the system size.
Markup Percentage
Applies a markup to the total system cost based on equipment and other project costs.

OpenSolar calculates system costs using:
COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) from equipment settings.
Cost build-up from:
Control > Pricing & Payments > Cost scheme
Price per Watt by Size
Assigns different prices per watt or kWh depending on the system or battery size ranges.
Enter the included tax percentage.

If some tiers are left blank:
The nearest available tier price is used.
If equidistant, the lower price is selected.
Fixed Price
Set a flat total price for specific package offerings.
Useful for pre-defined or promotional offers.
Pro Tip: You can manually override the price while in Design by selecting “Enter Price Manually” in the Pricing Scheme dropdown.
Auto-Applying Pricing Schemes:
OpenSolar allows you to automatically apply a pricing scheme to all projects or based on custom parameters.
How to Configure:
In the Pricing Scheme setup, enable the Auto-Apply toggle.

Enter your Auto-Apply Parameters (e.g., state, system size).
Separate multiple parameters using commas.
Do not use spaces (e.g.,
NSW,commercial,10kW+).
