About the LightReach integration on OpenSolar
The LightReach integration on OpenSolar enables you to present your OpenSolar proposals with accurately priced LightReach payment options and a seamless application process for your customers. If approved, your customers will be served with a ready-to-sign LightReach contract, all inside your OpenSolar proposal.
How to get set up with LightReach on OpenSolar
Log in to your OpenSolar account and navigate to the Payment Options library, click on the “Learn More” button under the LightReach logo and fill out the form there. You can also just write to us at lightreach@opensolar.com and we'll be happy to help you get started.
Using the LightReach integration
- Design requirements
- Must use equipment from LightReach’s Approved Vendor List
- Your design must adhere to LightReach design modeling criteria including shade inputs and non-shading loss simulation.
- Adding LightReach payment options to a system
- LightReach payment options are unique on OpenSolar in that the actual monthly payment the customer will see is configured after the payment option is added to the project. When you click to add payment options to the system you will notice that monthly payments are not displayed in the payment option explorer. Once you add the LightReach Lease/PPA you will be prompted to configure the payment option to select a monthly payment to present to your customer
- Confirming Project Details
- You’ll be prompted to confirm the selected hardware (panels, inverters, etc) from the LightReach approved vendor list. Where required, you’ll be asked to provide a personal sales license number.
- Select Pricing
- OpenSolar will connect to your organization’s Lightreach account to pull in all available adders and pricing bands available for this specific project. From this page you can select any applicable adders for this system and then pick your customer’s price from the list of pricing bands.
Generating a LightReach System Summary
OpenSolar provides a system summary document template that can be submitted to LightReach to get NTP. To generate a summary doc, use the “Generate Document” functionality which can be accessed in the “INFO” tab of your project in OpenSolar, or in the new layout, you’ll find this in the consolidated “MANAGE” tab. Select the template titled “LightReach Sales Design Details (US)”, and click “Generate”.
FAQs
- I have dealer partners with whom I share other payment options, but I have “sub-orgs” built into the LightReach portal for dealer partners. Is it possible to share options to the dealer accounts via Teams?
- Since the LightReach portal has its own structure for subordinate organizations (dealer partners), in the current state of the integration, we can connect your dealer’s OpenSolar account to ONE LightReach "sub-org". If they are selling LightReach for other partners, for now they’ll need to create an additional OpenSolar account for each LightReach "sub-org" which they have access to.
- I want to set a LightReach payment option as one of my auto-applied defaults… do I have to configure the payment option on every project?
- Yes, if you set a LightReach payment option as auto-applied, you’ll still have to configure the payment option (confirm your choices from the AVL and pricing options) on each project.
- How does OpenSolar validate non-shade production loss simulation?
- Designing a LightReach compliant proposal on OpenSolar means complying with design modeling criteria specified by LightReach. Following these modeling inputs is required on all LightReach sales, and OpenSolar helps you stay in compliance with these requirements by preventing submission of new applications where the regional requirements are not met for simulation of total non-shading loss. Here’s a 5 minute video detailing how that works. This LightReach knowledge base article contains current information from LightReach about their requirements.
