This article will cover how you can use OpenSolar to provide different levels of access to Installers depending on how much information you would like to share with them. This article will list the options in order from least access to most access.
Installation Instructions
The option which will give the installer the least access to your account is the installation instruction document. This is a summary PDF which you can generate in OS which will give a summary of the system and its details.
To generate one, the steps are to firstly create the base template which is provided by OpenSolar. To do this go to Control>Other>Document templates and then click to create a new document:
From here, give it a title which you will recognise such as simply "Installation Instructions". Then choose the type from the drop down menu as "Installation Instructions" and click the Save button in the bottom right.
This will then load in the template which you can leave as it, or make edits to as required using the text editor.
To generate the PDF go the the projects page for a specific project and then go to the bottom of the page and click the Generate File button:
Then choose the document title from the document template that you just made and click the generate button.
You can then download this as a PDF and send to the installer to give them instruction for the job.
Limited access
This option allows you to add in installers into your account and give them limited access to the projects that they are assigned to.
In order to set this up, you will first need to change the access restrictions for you account. This can be done by going to Control>Company>Settings>Project Access Control> and then change the setting to restricted. What this does is make it so that any non-admin (this is a toggle that is set up when you add the team member in) can only see the projects in the projects list that they are assigned to and also only be able to see the Projects, Studio and MyEnergy zones (no access to Control).
You can also optionally to choose to turn off the price breakdown in Studio for non-admins by going to Control>Company>Settings>General Preferences and setting the Toggle for Show Costs & Margin for Non-Admins to OFF.

From here you will want to add the installer into your list of team members as a non-admin.
To do this, go to Control>Company>Team and the add in a new team member with the Is-Admin toggle switched to OFF. The installer will then get an email invitation to join your account and to set their password. They will then be able to login. Initially they won't see anything in the projects page (if you have configured the previous settings correctly).
To assign an installer go to the bottom of the projects page and then click the edit button in the Installation and compliance section:

This will allow the installer to log into OpenSolar and view the projects that are assigned to them and see how they have been designed in Studio (along with the total price of the system).
Full Access
This option is simply adding them in as a team member. You can do this if you do not mind what they see.
Simply go to Control>Company>Team and add them as an admin. They will be able to see everything as you normally would in the account.
