OpenSolar has built a feature that complies with German standards for feed-in tariffs. In Germany, the feed-in tariff that the customer is eligible to receive is determined by the size of the solar system being installed.
These are the current feed-in rates that OpenSolar adheres to:
We have incorporated functionality to support these rates in two areas:
1. Within a utility tariff
For German tariffs (including tariffs in the OpenSolar database or custom tariffs that you have created yourself), you can specify the export rate based on the system size by following these steps:
- When editing a utility tariff (from the energy page or the control page), scroll down to the export rate section
- Add an export rate if one does not already exist
- On the right side, set the criteria as "PV System size"
- Enter a lower and upper limit for the system size
- To add another tier, click on the +Add Rate button, and follow the same steps as above
- Save your tariff
2. Using the simple flat rate
We've also incorporated the feed-in tiers automatically for you when using the simple flat rate tariff in the energy page. You can edit these values as you wish, but you will not be able to change the system size range criteria.
By utilising this tiered export rate feature, the feed-in savings on your customer's proposal will be impacted directly based on the system size. This feature will be most useful when you are quoting a customer multiple system options that span across different tiers.
