How to set up your EagleView account, and activate the EagleView integration
In order to use this integration, you must have an EagleView account that is set up to purchase EagleView’s solar product line. Your EagleView account also needs to have a payment method set up and ready to make purchases.
To activate the integration, navigate to Control / Other / Edit Integrations & API Keys and find the login fields under EagleView Roof Reports. These fields are not visible by default; you’ll only see them if your account has the EagleView integration enabled. If you don’t see these fields in the control zone, please contact support and request to have the integration enabled in your account.
How to order and access EagleView Essentials+ and Inform Advanced reports
When your account is set up, EagleView will appear as an option in the imagery provider menu under 3D design mode in the design studio. When you toggle the imagery provider field to either EagleView Inform Advanced or EagleView Essentials+, a button will appear which will allow you to order the selected report.
Pricing and expectations around delivery time
For pricing information, check with your EagleView representative. The SLA for delivery times are 6 hours for Essentials+ reports (roof model only), and 24 hours for the Informed Advanced reports (roof model including shade study), and average delivery is about 1½ business hours and 6-7 business hours for the Essentials+ and Inform Advanced reports respectively.
Tips for transitioning from an initial design in Google3D or 2D imagery to finish your design with EagleView
If you start your design in Google 3D or 2d imagery and load an EagleView report, you may notice that your panels disappear. Don’t worry, they’re still there. To quickly and easily locate them, and move them to the correct location on your newly loaded EagleView model, click the panels tab in the design toolbar on the left, click on a panel group, and the directional control pad ( ) will be highlighted. You may not see the panels yet, but when you click on the directional control pad and drag them, they should “float” above the model.
NOTE: When transitioning from 2D design mode to an EagleView 3D model, you may need to "unlock" the design inputs by turning ON "Elevation Auto" in the advanced layout menu and deleting existing azimuth and slope data from your original 2D design. This will allow the panel group to snap to the EagleView 3D model.
Notes on using the EagleView report to make your design
EagleView reports that you purchase and import into OpenSolar will automatically identify roof edge types for you. You can identify your setbacks for various edge types in the control zone. This article details how to pre-set those preferences. With those presets in place, the EagleView report will highlight your setbacks clearly. To take a peek at the edge type identified in the model, you can right click on an edge and it’ll review a context menu through which you can change the edge type as well.
How to export a roof layout in .DXF format
When you have a complete design that you’d like to export, you can download a .DXF file from the advanced menu in the upper right corner of the design studio.
