This article will run you through how to add setbacks to designs on OpenSolar, including 2D, 3D and Manual Modes.
The following video reviews editing your setback and design settings as well as including setbacks on a design.
Adding Setbacks to 2D/3D Modes:
To show setbacks in both 2D and 3D Design Modes you will first go to the Design page then click on the Advanced dropdown. You can now select the Roof option.
Next, outline the roof facet you would like to show setbacks on.
From here, right click on the line you would like to apply a setback on and select the appropriate Edge type from the dropdown.
You are now able to view the setback, indicated by the red highlight on the roof edge.
Adding Setbacks to Manual Mode:
To add setbacks in Manual Mode, first draw the house using the Advanced dropdown options on the Design page.
Once the site is modeled, right click on the edge you would like to show setbacks on and define that Edge type.
Once the Edge type is selected, the setback will be applied.
