Download a Bill of Materials (BOM)

In OpenSolar, you can easily download a Bill of Materials (BOM) for one of your projects. 

Navigate to the Project > Info tab, and then click on the "Download BOM" button on the right side:

Then select which system you would like to generate the BOM for, and which type of file you would like to download (PDF/CSV):

Take note of this message when you click download:

If the BOM does not automatically open, just refreshed your browser, go into Project > Info and download the BOM from the file repository area:

Below is an example of a PDF BOM document from OpenSolar. It populates all of the hardware components, quantities and costs for the job. You have a blank space for notes that you can write in after downloading this document if you wish. CSV file will give you the option to edit your BOM.

Q: Can I adjust the price of the components?

A: The price of the components can be adjusted by:

1. Go to the control > design & hardware > and select either the module, inverter, battery, or other component window depending on the component you want to update.
2. Edit the component
3. update the COGS field with the price you want to display
4. Save window.
