How to Add/Update Optimisers

This article is in the Control zone of the App.  

When on the Control zone of OpenSolar, access your list of optimisers by clicking on Design and Hardware > Other components. From here you can search and edit an existing optimiser, or create a new one. We will see each of these processes below.

From here you have the ability to look-up existing optimisers in our component database. To do this, simply click on the + Add From Database box and type in the model of optimiser that you are looking for.

If you are entering in a very new optimiser model, or a custom model which is not likely to appear in our database then you have the ability to create your own custom optimiser by entering in the specifications manually.

To do this, choose the + Add From Database > Create Your Own option when creating the optimiser and then enter in the specifications in each of the fields shown. Make sure you change the Type field to DC Optimiser.

• Code - This is the code which is visible in Studio.
• Manufacturer - This is the manufacturer of the optimiser.
• Title - This is the title in online proposal(if shown to customer).
• DC Optimiser Efficiency - This is the efficiency which is applied to the output.
• DC Optimiser Max Input Power (W) - This is the maximum allowable power that the optimiser can accept.
• DC Optimiser Max Input Voltage (V) - This is the maximum allowable voltage that the optimiser can accept.  
• DC Optimiser Max Input Current (A) - This is the maximum allowable current that the optimiser can accept.
• Description - This is the description that will be included in the product section in Online Proposal (if shown to customer).

You can then also add in the product warranty and SKU code. If you would like this optimiser to appear on the Online proposal, ensure the Show Customer button is switched on.

You can also enter in the cost (COGS) per unit of the optimiser that will be factored into the price breakdown of the project, when that optimiser is used. This is particularly important when using a markup pricing scheme.

You can also enter the Price Adjustment per Unit (Inc Tax) - this field gives you the ability to add a price adjustment (inclusive of tax) to the Price per Watt and Price Per Watt By Size pricing schemes.

Once you have finished entering in the details for your new optimiser type, click  .

This will then take you back to your list of inverters in Control where you can create more or edit ones you have already created by clicking on  .
