You can include your company's contract within OpenSolar to be displayed and available for signature once a customer accepts your proposal. Within OpenSolar, you can create a default Contract template that is applied to all projects, or create multiple that you can apply on a per-project basis.
To create a new Contract template, first go to the Control Zone > Purchase Experience, select Contract Template. From here, you can edit existing contract templates, or add a new one by selecting 'Create Contract Template'.
Give your contract a title, choose to set it as your default template by selecting 'auto-apply', give an internal description, and be sure to read OpenSolar's legal disclaimer. After you've done this, you can start adding in your contract information. OpenSolar has created an example default contract that you can edit completely.
Using our WYSIWYG editor, you can add rich detail to this contract including:
- Paragraph formatting
- Numbers or bullets
- Placeholders that pull project specific information
- Images
- Tables, links, lines, and page breaks
Ensure you save your progress!
Once a customer has selected the "Accept Proposal" button on the Online proposal page, they will be able to see your contract under "Terms & Conditions". They can then accept the proposal and contract with an electronic signature, which will save to your individual project page.
To select a different contract template from your default for a specific proposal, go to the individual project page. Scroll down till you see the "Proposal" section. Edit this section, and select the contract template you would like to use. Ensure you save.
Please note that OpenSolar also has an integration with DocuSign to make it as easy as possible to set up your contract. Please refer to this article for more information.
