This article is in the Control zone of the App.
Setting up and customising all the potential costs of your projects will make sure that you are covered for any project you design. Extra costs are an important piece. You can establish these extra costs based on two categories: Job Difficulty and Roof Type.
To begin customising your extra costs, navigate from Control > Pricing & Payments > Cost Information.
After you select an existing cost template, or create a new one, click on the dropdown button that says Extra Costs.
From here you can add costs associated with “Job Difficulty.” These costs are associated with the height of the install by number of stories; pitch of the roof by slope; and use of a tilt rack. You can set these costs by the following methods: per system, per panel, or per watt.
Next, you can add extra costs associated with different roof types (e.g. clay tile, metal, etc.) You are able to set these costs by the same methods as above.
Assigning Extra Costs for your Specific Project
Now that you have customized your extra costs in Control, you will want to make sure these costs are accounted for on a project-to-project basis. This section of the article will review the location and steps required to make sure these extra costs apply.
Steep Pitch (Slope) and Tilt Racks
While in Project > Design you will be able to adjust both roof slope and tilt of racks.
First, select the array you would like to adjust roof slope or tilt of racks. You can find this in the “Panels” section of the left design toolbar.
Roof type and height (number of stories)
You are able to choose these settings in Project > Info > Site Details
Notes about Applying Extra Costs
Extra costs are added to the system price without any markup (except for "Markup Pricing" methods which markup the extra costs).
Extra Costs are automatically added to all pricing schemes EXCEPT they are NOT added to the 'Fixed Price' pricing scheme. This is so you have control over the exact price that is set.
Extra costs are specified without tax. Tax will be applied automatically if necessary.
