While in Design, you can select the equipment (panels, inverters, batteries, other components) that you want included in your project design and proposal.
This article will show you how to select your hardware and integrate different features of your hardware into your design. Note: to customize your equipment specifications and hardware available to use while in Design, please see this section of our Help Center.
Selecting your Hardware
Before you start designing your system, it is important to choose the type of hardware that you will use.
- On the left toolbar, you will click the section titled “Panels” to choose your modules. From here, use the dropdown to select your modules from your active list, or search the database. You can also add DC Optimizers at this stage.
- Then choose the section titled “Inverters” to add either microinverters or a string inverter. For help on manual string sizing in design, see this article.
- Then choose “Batteries” if you are adding energy storage to your project. You can also specify a percentage and/or kW cap for the load offset on this section.
- Then choose “Others” to add components (e.g. racking, maintenance plans, etc). If you are using DC Optimizers for your project, you will also see them listed here.
Below you will see an example of what you will see in “Summary” if your project contains equipment from each of the sections.
