15 Minute to Hourly Interval Data Conversion Spreadsheet
(Please remember to replace the example provided with your data)
Delete the example line and copy/paste your 15 minute start date, end date, and usage information into Columns B-D. You will get your hourly data in the green boxes in Column J, which you can paste into OpenSolar by following the instructions below. DO NOT edit the original spreadsheet in the link.
This article is in the individual Projects zone of OpenSolar. Once here, click the specific project you would like to edit. Next, click the Energy section.
OpenSolar currently accepts interval data in the format of 8760 hourly values (one year) beginning at 12am January 1st as a list of comma-separated values.
These can be entered by copy-pasting these values from an excel spreadsheet in one of the 2 following formats:
- A single column of 8760 hourly values for the entire year.
- 24 columns of hours x 365 rows of days (like in the image below)
Note: only include the data, and do not copy the titles. It must be a complete year worth of data, 8760 hours starting on Jan 1st (Note that our software makes the assumption that the first hourly value provided starts on a Monday).
From the Energy Tab of your project locate the Electricity Usage section. Locate the "data source" field and from the drop down menu select the option for Hourly Interval.
Once you have the data ready to go in the appropriate format then it is simply a matter of copy-pasting from excel.
Ensure that you press the button when you have finished editing this.
