OpenSolar has partnered with Amber to enable your customers to view an estimate of the additional savings they may realise by selecting an Amber tariff for their battery-equipped solar systems. These estimated savings are presented as an Amber savings banner within the customer’s proposal, highlighting the incremental financial benefit compared to a standard solar + battery or battery-only solution.
Enabling the Amber Integration
To activate the Amber Savings Calculation within OpenSolar:
Enable Amber in the platform:
Go to Control > Others > Connect and activate the Amber product.Design an Amber-compatible system:
When a system is designed using Amber-compatible battery, OpenSolar will automatically classify the system as “Amber SmartShift compatible” for the battery, and would show a notification banner to the designer to add the “Amber for Battery” component to the system design. Additionally, OpenSolar will also map the inverter as Solar Curtailment compatible or not, ensuring the savings calculations are as accurate as possible.
Additionally, OpenSolar will also map the inverter as Solar Curtailment compatible, ensuring the savings calculations takes the curtailment into account.Note: Pros may manually designate a component as SmartShift or solar curtailment compatible (or remove such designation). The savings calculator will then use this designation when estimating Amber savings.
Include the Amber component:
Add the “Amber for Battery” other component to the system design.
Showcase Amber savings in the proposal:
For organisations with the Amber integration enabled and the Amber component included in the design, customer proposals will now display:An Amber Showcase section, and
A savings estimation banner reflecting the projected additional savings when using an Amber tariff.
These enhancements help demonstrate the potential value of Amber’s tariff optimisation directly within the proposal experience.
