Summary:
This article walks you through how to add the new Cheaper Home Batteries Incentive, so you can apply it to proposals straight away.
⚠️ Important for existing users: If you have already created a manual Cheaper Homes Batteries incentive, you should delete it before adding this incentive, to avoid double-adding STCs.
The rebate will come into effect from Tuesday 1 July, following the Australian Parliament’s approval. See more information here: https://www.dcceew.gov.au/energy/programs/cheaper-home-batteries
How to Add the Cheaper Home Batteries incentive:
- Go to Control > Other > Incentives.
- Click Add New Incentive. This is where you can configure additional rebates, tariffs, and custom incentives.
- Select "Cheaper Home Batteries Program" as your Incentive Type
- Set the STC price at your preferred price
- Set the Years Remaining to 6 (from 2025 until the end of 2030).
- Optional: set a cap amount.
Note: you can choose to Auto-apply the incentive, so that it is included by default in eligible projects. When doing this, you can choose the auto-apply settings. To do this:
- Enter a Cap Amount. The rebate applies to batteries up to 100kWh, but will only be applied to 50Kwh of usable capacity. To enforce this cap for batteries 50-100kWh, enter a Cap Amount equal to your STC price * 9.3 * 50. For example, a $34 per STC price, with 9.3 STCs/ kWh up to 50kWh, would have a cap of $15,810 (34*9.3*50).
- Enter an auto apply max battery size of 100kWh.
- Enter an auto apply min battery size of 5kWh.
- Select "Usable" as Capacity Type.
- Click Save.
Have an existing project but the incentive is not showing?
Once set up, you will need to manually recalculate any relevant in-flight projects to update pricing.
